The peace of
Jesus.
27 Peace[a] I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. 28 [b]You heard me tell you, ‘I am going away and I will come back to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you this before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe. 30 I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world[c] is coming. He has no power over me, 31 but the world must know that I love the Father and that I do just as the Father has commanded me. Get up, let us go.-John14:27-31
Some people say
that peace is the absence of war. Well, Jesus lived at the time when
His country is conquered by the Romans. Yet, Jesus gave His followers
'Peace.' Can one live and feel in peace in the middle of war and
oppression? "Not as the world gives do I give it to you."
Jesus' peace is not the same as the peace that the world gives. What
kind of peace? The peace that comes from the confidence and faith
that Jesus is with us and has never abandoned us. This peace gives
hope and courage. This peace makes one rise up and try again. This
peace lets go and forgives.
